The home captures the elegance of yesterdyear while providing all the modern amenities one wants in a home today.
The foyer with backset French doors lead you to either the grand staircase upstairs or proceed left to the formal living room or right to the family room. Let's start with the formal living room. Enter the room and you are immediately drawn to the large mantle and beautiful gas fireplace with period Batchelder tile surround. Batchelder was a famous tile maker from the early 20's in Pasadena and many period homes are graced with his fine work. The room features a grand piano and sophisticated seating perfect for adult conversation, reading or simply a peaceful respite from your hectic day.
The formal living room leads to a stunning and formal dining room with wonderfully large windows on the side with views of a mature camphor tree and camellia bushes. The vintage Asian influenced hutch with beveled glass is the perfect accent to the room. Enjoy fine dining or entertaining your family and friends in this room that has French doors leading to your private outdoor oasis.
Step outside onto the brick patio with impressive outdoor, wood burning fireplace with tile surround that matches the Batchelder tile of the living room and you might not want to go back inside. Take a seat in one of the wicker chairs in front of the fire, or perhaps have your meal at the wrought iron dining room table with glass top. Your outdoor kitchen, complete with large stainless steel BBQ hooked up to the gas line and refrigerator make outdoor entertaining a breeze.
Step up to the recently remodeled and heated salt water pool and spa and enjoy a swim or simply relax in one of many comfortable chairs or chaise lounge chairs poolside. Off the garage to the side of the pool is a bathroom so you do not need to enter the house when you are spending your time outside.
Covering nearly .32 acres the grounds are beautifully landscaped and accented with lighting in both the front and rear yards. The home has a large grassy yard beyond the pool surrounded by a rose garden and several fruit trees including lemon, avocado, Meyer lemon, and more.

What a beautiful house! Russ the owner has thought of each and every detail! The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with wonderful linens! We were in Pasadena for the BCS Championship and had a wonderful stay in the home. The house is about 3 miles from the stadium. Russ the owner went out of his way to help us find the best way to drive to the game for parking and such, he even helped us finding tickets! After long days of exploring LA and having football fun it was so nice to come back to the home to relax. The backyard is gorgeous! We sat in the hottub, sat in the sun by the pool, sat by the fire in the outdoor living room. Orange trees, lemon trees and beautiful rose gardens make the backyard just breathtaking. We grilled and cooked dinner in the well appointed kitchen and it was nice to have a comfortable place to relax. We will rent again if our team makes it to Pasadena next year for sure!! Wonderful, wonderful property- just can't say enough!
Stunning! What a wonderful stay we had while in Pasadena for the BCS Championship Game! The owner of this house has thought of each and everything to make your stay fabulous! Each room is beautifully decorated, the beds are so comfortable with comfortable linens. We were so thrilled when we arrived at the home, the grounds are just gorgeous. Rose gardens, orange and lemon trees growing in a beautiful backyard setting. We enjoyed the hot-tub, sitting in the sun by the pool and at night the outdoor living fireplace and sitting area. We grilled out a time or two and cooked dinner in the well appointed kitchen. After long days of touring and activities it was so nice to come back to the house and just relax. Russ the owner was very helpful leading up to our stay giving us suggestions on how to park for the game, even helping us to find tickets!! You won't go wrong renting this house and if we ever come back to Pasadena we will rent here again!!
Our family of 8 adults from Wisconsin and Oregon came to Pasadena for the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game. This house was perfect. When we arrived the owner met us and gave us a tour of the house and explained how to use high tech amenities including the satellite TV and heaters for pool and hot tub and outdoor lighting. The house was clean and spacious. All the rooms (living room, family room, dining room) were large and accommodated all of us easily. The kitchen is large, well equipped and great for congregating. There is a large dining room table with comfortable chairs. We were planning on eating dinners out- but with the great kitchen, outdoor gas grill and dinning area, it was more fun cooking and eating in. The bedrooms were very comfortable. It was too chilly to use the swimming pool but we used the hot tub and the outdoor fireplace area and was great- just like an outdoor "living space." The grocery stores including Trader Joes were close by. The Eaton Canyon is close for Hikers. We spent a wonderful morning hiking up to the waterfalls. The house is very easy to find and from there, easy to get to nice shopping areas. This was a real find. We saved money over several hotel rooms and we were far more comfortable and had much more fun than staying in a hotel. This beautiful home should be considered for a trip to Pasadena.
If your looking for a great entertaining home this is it! We had a reception for our daughter with 26 guests and we were comfortable and the house didn't feel crowded, the caterer loved the space in the kitchen and our out of town guests felt like they were staying at the Ritz Carlton, the fluffy robes in each room were delightful on cold mornings and the outdoor fireplace was the cherry on top of the sundae, we truly enjoyed this home and will consider using this home for future events. Close to shopping, restaurants and what a view of the San Gabriel mountains!
